Abu Dhabi, 18 July 2025— H.E. Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of Tawazun Council for the Defence Enablement, affirmed that the “Union Pledge Day” served as a springboard for the foundation of the UAE federation and a turning point in the country’s progress and rise to prominence among the world’s nations.

The 18th of July 1971 will hold a special place in the hearts of UAE citizens. On this auspicious day, the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his brothers, the Rulers, held a historic meeting that led to the signing of the declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution.

As we reaffirm our dedication to the UAE and renew loyalty to our wise leadership, we extend greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on this special day, which reflects his keenness to preserve the history of the UAE’s founding and to highlight the pre-federation era as an important time whose deep significance will inspire future generations.
